Everyone is affected by skincare concerns, and Google is often the first place we turn to find out more, so search statistics can actually tell us a lot about the skin conditions that affect people most. According to some fascinating new statistics from Skinfo.com, the most-searched skin conditions vary enormously depending on which state you live in.
Skinfo was interested to find out which skin conditions affect Americans around the country the most, so they compiled data behind the top-searched conditions in every state, as compared to the national search volume, in Google. According to Skinfo's findings, acne is the top skin concern nationwide. This makes sense since acne affects such a wide variety of ethnicities and age groups. State by state, the most common searches had a lot to do with the age and ethnicity of the people that live there, as well as the environment in each location.
For example, "aging skin" was the top concern in Florida and Arizona, two states that have large populations of retirees.
In Northern states, like Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Minnesota, and Montana, "rosacea" was the top-Googled condition. This makes sense, as this condition is most common in people of Scandinavian or Irish ancestry, many of whom reside in these states.
